From Mechelen （メヘレンより）

Brussels（ブラッセルズ）郊外の町Mechelen（メヘレン）に滞在中。
ペーターおじさんが箱彫刻を出展中で、今回はモバイル写真でその速報などを・・・。

From Mechelen, Brussels, where I'm staying now, showing the newest images (via my mobile phone...) of Peter Gabrielse's new box art works in Eurantica Art and Antique Fair.


新らしい7作品を含めて、約20アイテムの展示。

This time he brought 7 new boxes, and total around 20 boxes are exhibited.



ヴィデオ・モードで・・・なんだけど、私のモバイル。カメラは、
ヴィデオ・フォーカスがヘタクソ・・・。
そして、モバイル・ディヴァイスでは機能しない様です・・・、

In video mode... but excuse my phone's poor focus on video...
And....oh,no...it's not working on mobile devices!?


まずは、この作品、白い図書室箱。
デリケートな色味と、
オパールのように光るアンモナイトが美しい。
インスタグラムに速報を上げたとたんに、
いつもお世話になっている、日本からのコレクターの方から、
即刻の引き合いが入って、すでに売約済み。

This is my favourite for this time, a library box in white tone.
This work has very delicate colours,
and it is enhanced by the iridescent colour of ammonite.
Immediately after I uploaded this image to Instagram,
his Japanese collector has sent her enquiry to me,
then already SOLD OUT.


全体像…にはちょっと引きがきかなくて、
上下が切れてるけれど、こんな感じ。
フレームと中のオーナメントのゴールドがエレガント。

Whole view...but top and bottom are a bit cut off...
Anyway...the gold colour in frame and ornamental column
give elegant touch into the white tone.


今回もう一箱、図書室箱が出展されている。
こちらはもう少し暗い目のグレーで、
テラコッタカラーがアクセント。
どちらかといえば、マスキュリンなイメージ。

He exhibits another library box this time.
This one has grey tone, a bit darker than the other one,
with terracotta for the accent colour.
Somehow it has more masculine feel.


そのディティール。
この作品も、昨日売れていって、
写真だけが残された。
図書室箱は毎回、真っ先に売り切れてしまう。

The detail.
This box also has been sold yesterday.
Thus only photographs are remaining.
Library boxes are so popular that always sold out straight away.


今回面白かった作品の一つ、画家のアトリエ。

Another interesting new theme, "painter's atelier".


壁にかけられているのは、
実際のサイズのアンティーク・ブラシ。
ルシャトーの材料倉庫で眠っていたのを覚えている。

Real size brushes are hang on the wall.
I remember these were resting / waiting
in the store room in his le Château.


赤いタブナクルの中には、音楽室。

Inside of the red-painted tabernacle
is a charming music room.


扉が開け閉めできる。

The door can be closed.


これはまた別の、新作箱。

このおじさんの新作箱達、また、ちゃんと眼レフ写真が出来てきて、
作品番号が整理できたら、改めて標本箱に詰め込みますよ。

This is another new work.

I will entry new blog once I finish post-process for DSLR photos,
and sort out work reference numbering etc...

これは、Pおじさんの作品とは別の話で、
おじさんが時々材料を仕入れている
アンティーク・ディーラーさんから、私が買ったもの・・・
そして、メヘレンの石屋さんから買ったもの、
今のところの私の戦利品・・・へへへ。

This is different story from Peter's box,
these are my booties so far.
I bought some little the 17th century fragments
from an antiques dealer from whom
Peter buys his material time to time.
And quartz stones are from an stone specialist shop in Mechelen.


日曜は、お気に入りの町アントワープへ。

On Sunday, I visited my favourite town Antwerp.


そう、昨年訪れた時はすでに部分的に修復工事が始まっていて、
全館見ることができなかったプランティン・モレトゥス博物館が、
修復を終えて再オープンしたのを見に行きたかったのだった。

Yes, I wanted to visit Plantin Moretus Museum again.
Although I visited there last year,
at that time some parts of the museum were closed for the restoration.
This year the work has been completed and it's fully open now.
Again I shall write more about this museum later.


そして、日曜でもオープンしている、
アントワープのブロカンテ通りの話しもまた後日に＾＾。

And about brocante street in Antwerp, yes, I shall write later,too....promise : )
